Intervention
An deep dive into the factors that impact a mental health crisis, along with advanced de-escalation and debriefing concepts

Workshop Highlights
A Thorough Understanding
of Crisis
Participants gain deeper insight and understanding into the neurobiology of a crisis, how it impacts a person's sense of safety, and how to assess where the person is in the escalation cycle.
De-escalation Training
Participants receive opportunities to practice advanced interventions at various phases of the crisis cycle, with an emphasis on prevention and early intervention. Concrete examples are discussed, as are emergency intervention strategies.
Beyond the Crisis
After the crisis is over, what do we do? This workshop discusses the use of critical incident debriefing as a tool to mitigate and prevent future crisis incidents. For schools and residential treatment programs, tools to process the incident with clients, create Safety Plans, and implement restorative practices are taught.
